R.A.F Casualty Medal Group - Mosquito - 264 Squadr
Royal Air Force Casualty Medal Group to Flight Sergeant Pilot George Arthur Leek - 264 Squadron. Comprises - 39-45 star, Africa star, Italy star, War and Defence medal, Condolence slip and his pilots wings. George was married to Hilda in 1944 and they lived in Harrogate. He started his service career in the RAF as ground crew and served in Africa and Italy prior to training as a pilot. He joined 264squadron on the 20th March 1945 with his navigator joining from 5 OTU. As with all new crews he undertook test flights on the 13th April 1945 while on test flight his Mosquito crashed near Ypres both airman were killed. The reason for the crash is unknown. The group comes with some research.
Korean War USAF A2 Flight Jacket.
USAF Korean War period A2 leather flight jacket named to "Ace" Captain C.E Kieffer. The jacket which i believe would have been a private purchase has two superb original squadron patches and name patch. The leather is in good condition with service wear, the lining has been replaced a long time ago and has service wear. The talon zip is in poor condition and can be closed with some effort for display purposes. A good been there combat A2 jacket which makes a super display item. Charles Kieffer died in 1968 at the age of 65 known as "Ace" he an army veteran of WW2 and the Korean conflict he also served as the personal pilot to President Dwight D Eisenhower.
\"FG\" Fire Guard Civilian Protective Steel He
1941 dated Fire Guard Civilian Protective Steel Helmet (Zuckerman). The helmet is in excellent condition for its age, maker (Pressed Steel) and dated stamped comes with it original leather strap which are rarely found, the helmets were sold without a chin strap. The painted stencilled "FG" Fire Guard has a small section missing see photographs. Overall a very good clean example of a civilian steel helmet.
1930s R.A.F Wireless Operators Log Book 208 / 6 Sq
Scarce inter war period RAF W/T Operators Flying Log Book to A.C Jennings, the log covers the period 26th November 1935 to 18th September 1938 serving with 208 and No 6 Squadrons. The log is in very good condition clearly written with all correct signatures and stamps and records 159 hours of flying. Jennings joins No 208 Squadron based at Heliopolis Egypt in 1935 flying on mainly Audax and Demon mainly bombing practice only 14 hours of flying was completed before moving to No 6 Squadron in December 1937 being based at Ramleh Palestine flying in mainly Hawker Hart the first entry - Northern T,J Frontier - Search for armed Arab Bands. During time with the Squadron he took part in convoy escorts, supply dropping, army co-op operations, bombing etc. Although only a short period of flying is recorded in the log this interesting period in RAF history is well recorded in this log and is worthy of further research.
