1940 RAF Defiant Air Gunners Log Book Grouping.
Scarce 1940 RAF air gunners log book grouping to Sgt Fairbrother 264 Squadron. The group includes - RAF Log Book covering December 1939 to May 1940. RAFVR Certificate of service and Discharge. RAF Permanent For RAF Duxford 1941 Handwritten letter dated June 1940 from Sgt Wise 264 Squadron (who was later killed) to Fairbrother who was in hospital after baling out of his aircraft after being shot down over Dunkirk. 2 x postcard size portrait photographs of Fairbrother. 12 x small but good quality and interesting subjects., planes, group airman photos. A number of interesting paperwork some post war. The Log Book. Begins with training 14th December 1939 before joining 264 Squadron in February 1940 at Martlesham Heath flying as air gunner in Defiant aircraft. The last entry in the log is on the 22/5/40 local recco, his next flight was to Dunkirk when he was wounded and baled out, in a extract from \"The Defiant Log\" by Alec Brew it reads - P/O Stokes Defiant L7019 was hit and his gunner LAC Fairbrother wounded, as Stokes nursed his crippled aircraft back to England, he ordered Fairbrother to bale out. Stokes managed to reach Manston and crashed landed. Fairbrother was admitted to hospital and never flew again, and was eventually release from the RAF in April 1941 being unfit for active service. A interesting early log in need of further research, all items in good used condition.

Interesting document grouping to Trooper Percy W J Spackman 319994 7th Queens Own Hussars, Royal Armoured Corps who was killed in a air raid on the 7th June 1941 in Alexandria. The group contains - His Soldiers Service and Pay Book Condolence letter Buckingham Palace with original envelope. Christmas Card to his parents. Roll of Honour news paper cutting. Hand written letter to his sister. Letter from units Padre, details of air raid and his burial. Air Mail letter from the units Major W.K Davies to his parents giving details of his death. Letter from Major W Davies answering a request for the parents for a photograph of his grave. Items in good used condition.

1942 Dated R.A.F Airman\'s Service Jacket.
1942 dated Royal Air Force (other ranks) Airman\'s Service Jacket (simplified style) manufactured by Gerrish, Ames & Simpkins Ltd, Size No.9. Jacket is in overall good condition with service wear, just a couple of very small areas of damage. A good size wartime jacket.

Wartime civilian pair of spectacles specially produced for use when wearing a gas respirator. The glasses are in good used condition and come with the original case, on the base of the case a paper label which reads - This spectacle frame is designed for ordinary use and for use when wearing a respirator - etc.
