Durham Air Raid Wardens Card and Anti Gas Training
Pair of documents to County Of Durham Air Raid Warden Miss M.A Cleugh - 1. Her Wardens Authority Card for the district of Felling issue 18th July 1939. 2. Certificate for completion of anti-gas training course issued 15th July 1939. Both items are in very good clean condition.
Seafire Aircraft Mk.I, II & III Manual - A.P 2280A
Seafire Aircraft Mk .I, II and III Series Technical Manual A.P. 2280A, B & C Volume 1 - Prepared by direction of the Ministry of Aircraft Production for the Air Ministry issued 1944. The large detailed technical manual is contained in its original ring binder folder split into 11 section of the aircraft i.e section 1 - pilots control, 2 - emergency controls, 5 - removal and assembly operations, 7 - fuselage, 8 - engine installation etc. Condition of this scarce manual is good used.
RAF 144 Squadron Air Crew Europe Casualty Medal Gr
Early 1939 Air Crew Europe casualty medal grouping to 564710 Sergeant Ernest Herd, 144 Squadron Royal Air Force killed on operations 29th September 1939. The group includes his medals 1939 - 1945 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, 39-45 War Medal all medals are in good uncleaned condition retaining there original ribbons. Three photographs of his funeral and grave, portrait photograph in uniform of Herd, No 144 (B) Squadron, Hemswell Lincs Christmas greeting card from Ronald. Hampden L4134 Took off from RAF Hemswell 29th September 1939 at 0640 for operations to Heligoland as leader of the raid. The aircraft was shot down in flames between Heligoland and Wangerooge and may fallen to a Me 109 piloted by Uffz Pirsch of I./ZG26. Three members of the crew were killed and one taken POW. Herd from Holbeach Lincolnshire is buried at the Sage war cemetery Oldenburg Germany. A good early casualty group worthy of further research.

World War One - 1914 Star - Lincolnshire Regiment.
World War One British 1914 Star to 3918 L/Cpl Michael Dunne of the Lincolnshire Regiment. Medal is in good condition and is clearly named. Dunne enlisted on the 17th May 1894 and was discharged on 2nd June 1916 due to sickness. Comes with a photocopy of his service record.
