Wartime "Bomber Command" ( A Game For All Ages) Board Game. Colourful card board in sound used condition with some slight damage to edges and and staining measures approx 36 x32 cm. Instructions for play are printed on the back and the winner is the first player to have his plane reach Berlin and return to base.
A.R.P Wardens Notebook - 1942 London.
Note book of F.J Wethered No.20, Deputy Post Warden ,Post 2. Mayfair, 22 Hanover Square. London. Containing his notes from Incident Officers Training Course held at Westminster City Hall 1942. Notes on dealing with a bomb incident and related topics. The quality note book is clear and well written with about 28 sides with a further 28 on loose sheets.
First Operational Sortie Made By Meteor. Photograp
26 x 25 cm mounted presentation photograph the inscription reads - On the 16th of April of this year the first operational sortie to be made by Meteor IIIs from a continental airfield was made by four of the jet-propelled aircraft of 616 Squadron. The pilots were Flight Sergeant Carmel, Squadron Leader L.W Watts DFC, Flying Officer Wilson and Warrant Officer Packer, and the picture of them above was taken shortly after they landed. The photograph is in good condition with some staining to the mounting card.
R.A.F Type E Flying Helmet (Late Pattern)
RAF Type E flying helmet internally wired (late pattern), size 3. The beige coloured Airtex material is in excellent clean undamaged condition, both rubber earpieces are good and flexible, all straps are in good working order. Overall a very good possible unissued example of a late pattern helmet.
USAAF - AN-H-!5 Summer Flying Helmet.
Wartime USAAF AN-H-16 summer flying helmet complete with R-14 receivers and loom. Condition is excellent possible unissued with only some very slight staining to peak, all straps etc are good. Good clear label, size extra large. Would be difficult to find better example.
R.A.F Pilot Flying Log Books - 267 Squadron.
Pair of RAF pilots flying log books to W/O. R.G Drew covering the period March 1942 to October 1945. operation carried out with 267 Squadron on Dakota from bases in Italy, India and Burma. 267 Transport Squadron undertook supply dropping missions to resistance in Italy and the Balkans from 1943 and later from bases in India took part in supporting 14th Army final offensive during the Burma campaign. Log Book 1 - covers the period March 1942 to June 1944. Basic flying training commenced with 29 EFTS during March 1942 before going to No1 BFTS Texas USA to continue his basic flying training before returning to the UK in March 1943. After more training he transferred to No 105 OTU in July 1943 on Wellingtons. After completion of training he joined No3 Aircraft delivery unit at BNAF flying mainly DC3 and Wellingtons. June 1944 he joined 267 Squadron based at Bari Italy. Log Book No2 - covers the period June 1944 to October 1945. June 1944 to February 1945 Bari Italy, February 1945 to March 1945 India, March 1945 to September 1945 Burma. Supply dropping operation to resistance fighters began on the15th June 1944 and numerous ops are recorded including evacuating wounded & POWs. With the move of the Squadron to Burma the supply drops continued. Both logs are in used but sound condition with some staining to the front covers all are well written and have the correct signatures and stamps the logs come with a 25 x 21 cm (rather tatty) photograph taken whilst training in Texas. A good pair of logs in need of further research. .
