WWII Luftwaffe Non Portable Award.
World War Two German Luftwaffe non portable award - Luftgau Norwegen. Translated reads - For Special Achievement. The Commanding General And Commander in Luftgau Norway. The cast bronze plaque measures approx 11x15cm is individual numbered to reverse 3466, the plaque is in overall very good condition the hanging bracket to the reverse has had a repair.
R.A.F Wartime R1155 Radio Receiver.
Air Ministry / Royal Air Force wartime period R1155.A radio receiver Reference No 10 D / 820 serial No 51005. Appears to be in good original unmodified complete condition (see photos). The R1155 receiver were used in many wartime aircraft including the Lancaster. UK Sales Only
WW1 Medal Group - West York / Lincoln Regiment.
WW1 medal group to 439 / 241884 Sgt / CSM A. Rhodes West Yorkshire Regiment & Lincolnshire Regiment. The group comprises 1914-15 star, war and victory medal named West Yorkshire Regiment, Territorial Force Efficiency Medal - Lincolnshire Regiment. All medals are in good condition and are clearly named with replacment ribbons. Copies of research included. Rhodes enlisted on the 16th June 1908 in Leeds, saw service in France B.E.F, wounded January 1916, taken POW 1918. A good group worthy of further research.
Port Of London Authority - River Emergency Service
Scarce wartime Port of London - River Emergency Services lapel badge. The button hole fixing badge measures approx 2cm dia and is in very good condition with no damage to the enamel. The River Emergency Services was formed pre-war for the purpose of Air Raid Precautions duties on the River Thames with the Port of London.
Paperweight Made From Stone From the Bombed Houses
Stone paperweight made from stone from the houses of parliament when it was bombed in 1941. The paper weight measures appro 9 x 10 cm has circular casting on top which reads - "this stone came from the houses of parliament" Produced by the London Stonecraft Ltd in the 1940s this item was advertised at 10 shillings with post and packing at 1 shilling, the companies catalogue of the time shows a whole range of items made from the stone and metal from the houses of parliament after it was damaged by bombing by the enemy in 1941.
Royal Flying Corps Pilots Training Note Book.
The "Ideal" Royal Flying Corps Loose Leaf Note Book - issued to Cadet pilot 61708 Herbert Victor Barker - A. Squadron No 2 R.F.C Cadet Wing Hurley? Park Camp Winchester 1917. The book contains his hand written cadet training notes and provides and insight into the training of a R.F.C pilot. The note book is in very good condition for its age, is clearly written, features printed RFC wings to front cover and a number of signatures to inner back cover presumable other cadets and is clearly named to Barker. Photo copies of research carried out are included. Herbert Victor Barker war born on the 5th February 1899 in Middlesbrough, graduated as R.F.C Pilot March 1918, wounded in combat, France May 1918, 80 Squadron. WW2 service as Squadron Leader killed in a crashed between two Whitley aircraft while serving with 9 AGS 10th October 1941 buried Middlesbrough cemetery.
