Letter written on Headquarters British Army of the Rhine headed paper and dated 22/3/1946 to Major A.K Hay from Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery. The handwritten letter is personally signed by Montgomery of Alamein. Letter comes with its envelope.

Scarce book / album detailing the work done during the first world war by Ruston & Hornsby Ltd Engineers of Lincoln who manufactured Aeroplanes , Aero Engines,Bombs and Ammunition, Mines, Marine engines, Traction wagons etc. The album / book has approx 124 pages with hundreds of illustrations and is of outstanding quality. Overall in very good condition for its age with slight staining to the front cover.

Flying Log Book, service and release book and 1943 identity certificate for Spain to 1265226 W/O J.H White air gunner. Enlisted 6th September 1940, released 1st March 1946. Flying training started March 1942 with No2 Air Observer School RAF Yatesbury followed by Air Gunnery School RAF Pembrey training was to continue with radio school RAF Prestwick and 7 OTU RAF Limavady before joining his first Squadron 179 Coastal Command at Bircham - Newton. Soon to move with the squadron to Gibraltar undertaking Anti - Submarine patrols on Wellingtons fitted with the new Leigh Light (anti - Sub device being a 22 million candela carbon arc searchlight) numerous entries during his stay with 179 sqnd December 1942 to November 1943 - 4/1/43 Sighted U Boat periscope only, large wake - over 40 anti sub and convoy escort listed mainly as part of Wing Commander Greswell (later Air Commodore J.H Greswell CB, CBE, DSO, DFC) crew. January 1944 transferred to 6 OTU at Silloth as instructor on radar and leigh light, October 1945 saw his last posting to 160 Squadron, RAF Minneriya, Ceylon on Liberators. Log is in good sound used condition is clearly written with all correct signatures including W/CDR J.H Greswell, a interesting coastal command log a good research project.

A.R.P - Air Raid Warden enamel sign measures approx. 23 x 8 cm in very good clean condition with just a small amount of damage to the enamel to the right hand edge (see photos).

Wings For Victory National Savings Campaign 1943 - certificate of honour awarded to Crymmych. A 270F/1/5 savings group. The certificate measures approx. 28 x 23 cm is in well used condition, some heavy foxing and has been folded, however these certificate are getting hard to find and this example still displays well.
