Vickers Varsity Control Wheel.
Pilots control wheel from a Vickers Varsity. In very good used condition. The Varsity entered R.A.F service as a post war replacement for the Wellington crew trainer. It first flew in July 1949 and entered service in 1951, and served many years in the training of pilots, navigators and air engineers.
Luftschutz (Air Defense) Gas Mask.
Luftschutz (German Civil Defense) issue civilian style gas mask with canister and instruction leaflet. The civilian type gas mask is in excellent condition with clear markings and rubber remains supple. The carrying canister is in very good condition with just a couple of small dents to body, clearly maker marked to lid, carrying straps are in poor condition with some repairs. Scarce to find the civilian style gasmask in metal carrying canister.
Capt T. Henderson M.C - 14th Squadron RFC - Plaque
A rare Royal Flying Corps plaque presented to Capt T. Henderson M.C by the men of 14 Squadron R.F.C Egypt 1917. The handmade copper/brass plaque mounted on a hardwood base (possible made from propeller wood) with central RFC cap badge. Henderson trained as an Observer and saw action with 1 Sqdn in France, he then trained as pilot and joined 14 Squadron in Egypt in time to take part in the Hejaz expedition which was when he first meet Lawrence Of Arabia.He was awarded his M.C for this action. Later while with 58 Squadron he flew with Col T.E Lawrence on a number of occasions. Henderson attended Lawrence of Arabia funeral after his death in 1935 and was also invited by Lawrence brother to write a chapter in the book T.E Lawrence by his friends published after his death by his brother. A unique item and research project, comes with some research.
WW1 Military Medal with Pair - 21st London Regimen
World War One Military Medal group to 39964 Pte William Primrose Campbell 21st London Regiment / East Surrey Regiment - comprises his Military Medal, 1914 - 1918 War Medal and Victory Medal, all clearly and correctly named to 21st London Regiment. Medals in good uncleaned condition with replacement ribbons. Campbell enlisted on 21/9/16 and discharged 9/4/19, France Overseas Service, Military Medal London Gazette 13th March 1919. Entitled to wear the War Badge Number B254657 (not included). A good MM group in need of further research. Some research included.
