Document Group - Tonbridge Civil Defence.
Small group of wartime documents from the Civil Defence Headquarters Tonbridge, Kent. The group includes - 1943 letter to all part time male wardens. Notes for wardens in connection with use of civilian respirators. Instructions for fitting civilian respirator. 2x letters reference insurance and compensation for ARP volunteers 3 x documents on chemical warfare agents.
World War One British Army Field Telephone.
Scarce World War One British Army field telephone. Manufactured by Siemens Bros & Co Ltd and dated 1916. The wood case is clearly dated 1916 with broad arrow and maker and model details - Telephone set portable \"G\" No 2203. The case is in good uncleaned condition the latch is in good working order, the leather / canvas carrying handle is missing although the metal fixing remain. A wiring diagram remains on the inside of the lid. The telephone handset and its cable are complete and dated 1916. A scarce piece of WW1 field equipment.
Wartime Canadian Flying Helmet.
Unusual wartime leather zip ear flying helmet, we believe this to be of Canadian origin, possible private purchase for use in the flying training schools. The tan leather helmet has some staining a few areas of small minor damage to the leather which is supple, the zip ear are fitted with lightening zips which are working, some perishing to the ear cups. The leather chin straps (2) The press stud is intact but not working i think could easily be repaired the buckle on the main strap is good. The chamois lining is sound with service wear. The helmet is named on the lining to R63940 W.R Wilkes.
