World War One - \"Loto Des Belges\"
World War One period "Loto Des Belges" Belgium Bingo / Lotto game. The box has illustration of Belgium soldiers in the trench's playing the bingo game, measures approx 20x12x11cm and contains 46 players numbered cards and 90 numbered wooden counters (Numbers 3 & 80 missing), is in good sound condition with some age wear. A scarce WW1 military themed game.
Early Quality Luftwaffe Pilots Badge By C.E Juncke
A excellent quality early Luftwaffe Pilots Badge by one of the most sort after makers \"C.E Juncker, Berlin S.W\". The two piece badge in silvered tombac with silvered wreath and blackened patinated eagle. The pin is slightly distorted with a working hinge and catch. This early heavy quality badge is in uncleaned condition and is clearly maker marked on the reverse of the eagle - C.E Juncker Berlin S.W.
R.A.F Named Medal Group With James Nicolson V.C In
Group of medals named to Flt/Sgt E.L Kightley air gunner with 355 Squadron R.A.F who survived the crash in which James Nicolson V.C was killed on the 2nd May 1945. The medal group consists of 39-45 Star - Burma Star - Defence and 39-45 War Medal all four medals have been privately named by Kightley and are mounted as worn. All medals are in excellent condition. Kightley served as a air gunner with No.355 (Liberator) Squadron R.A.F and completed numerous operation in 1944 / 45 against the Japanese in the Burma theatre. During one of its long range bombing missions an attack on the enemy gun positions in the Rangoon area, on 2nd May 1945, the first fighter command V.C of the war, Wing Commander J.B Nicolson, lost his life when the 355 squadron Liberator in which he was flying as passenger ditched in the sea after the engine caught fire, the second pilot and Kightley were catapulted through the perspex nose of the aircraft into the water, Kightley and the second pilot were the only survivors. The medal group comes with photo copies of Kightley log book and a number of photo copy photographs of Kightley and a section from the book \"Nicolson V.C\" which details the crash and Kightley part is described in great detail. A colour photograph of Eric Kightley taken at the 355 Squadron reunion at RAF Cosford in July 1944 is included.
